For my final project in Mechanical Design, I CAD modeled a brush hog tractor implement in SolidWorks. In order to model this, I designed a functional 3-point hitch and PTO shaft, as well as a brush hog mechanism. Then, I modeled a high-torque load by hand calculations and SolidWorks motion analysis.

 

I performed FEA analysis on a few key components of my assembly, adjusting their design until the shear pin failed before any other component, such as the PTO shaft yoke and the bevel gear.
