While working as a shop intern, I built a couple carpentry project for commission at a local park. One project was the construction of a canoe rack which replaced a dilapidated one. The canoe rack was constructed out of 2"x4"s and 2"x6"s, fastened with carriage bolts. Its foundation was pounded into the ground and filled with rocks and gravel, which we had to level, waiting to make the final cuts on the wood until we were on site. We finished the canoe rack with oil.
