Throughout college, I worked as a farmhand on an organic vegetable farm near my college. I got lots of experience in caring for veggies, such as seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, and other tasks. I also got experience with tractor driving.

Throughout my time there, I gained some leadership on the farm, taking on more challenging tasks such as leading a team to construct a hoop house.

I really enjoyed this kind of work, both in the way it balanced the technical workload of engineering school with something very hands-on, and in the work itself. This job gave me a greater appreciation for local food and the effect it can have on a community and for the joy I derive from manual labor.
